Police seize over $20,000 in drugs and cash from couple.

On March 28, 2018 Blood Tribe Police Service Crime Reduction Unit, with the assistance of the Community Policing Division arrested Tyson Devine and Megan Heavy Shields after a traffic stop which resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs.

The investigation continued and a search warrant was executed on a home in Cardston, Alberta with the assistance of Cardston RCMP and Cardston Peace Officer.

Police seized an imitation firearm, a taser and over $20,000 worth of drugs and cash which include: 184 grams of Cocaine, 107 Oxycodone tablets, 18 grams of Marijuana and 4 Lorazapam tablets.

35 year old Blood Tribe man Tyson Devine and 23 year old Blood Tribe woman Megan Heavy Shields have been charged with multiple offences which include: Four counts of having possession of illicit drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and multiple weapons offenses. Further, both are charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. During the search warrant, police located a dog who was immediately taken to a local veterinarian where it is currently being treated due to poor health.

Bail hearings were conducted and Tyson Devine was released on $1000 cash bail to appear in Cardston Provincial Court on April 9, 2018. Megan Heavy Shields was released to appear in Cardston Provincial Court April 9, 2018.
