Traffic Stop Results in Seizure of Illicit Drugs

On April 5, 2018 members of the Blood Tribe Police Service Crime Reduction Unit and the Community Policing Division conducted a traffic stop on the Blood Reserve, which resulted in the arrest of 2 from Calgary and the seizure of illicit drugs.

46 year old man, Jaret Mcphee and 43 year old woman, Lorena Hastings, both from Calgary have been charged with multiple offences which include: possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon and trespass on the Blood Indian Reserve.

Police seized 7 grams of methaphetamine, 3 grams of carfentanil, fentanyl and a machete.

Mcphee and Hastings have been remanded into custody after a bail hearing was conducted and are scheduled to appear in Cardston Provincial Court on April 9, 2018.
